Pomegranate is native from Iran to the Himalayas and was cultivated and naturalized over the whole Mediterranean region since ancient time. The name of pomegranate derives from medieval Latin meanings “seedy apple”. In addition it is mentioned in many ancient texts like the book of Erodes, the Torah and the Quran. Furthermore, pomegranate is one of the most powerful, nutrient dense food sources and is rich in vitamin C, anti-oxidant, fiber and anti-inflammatory properties.
